I’m so excited to share this special session with you all. 3 years ago I had the pleasure of photographing Rohan’s baby brother while he was in his mama’s tummy and then I photographed his newborn session. And recently I photographed Rohan while he was in his mama’s tummy and now it was his turn for his newborn session. Another fun fact, Rohan was born ON his brother’s 3rd birthday! How cool is that? Best. Present. Ever.
If you’d like to check out his mama’s Maternity Session, you can view it here.
I love photographing families and watching the children grow and the families grow too! There’s just nothing quite like it! I love my job!

I want to introduce you all to sweet little Jeevan! He was just absolutely precious during his in-home newborn session in beautiful Newport Beach, California. I loved getting to know him and his amazing family! He was surrounded by so much LOVE, it was just absolutely incredible to watch!
I was blessed to not only photograph Jeevan’s Newborn session, but a Family Session as well on the same day! He had family visiting from all over to meet him and it was a perfect opportunity to capture some once in a lifetime family moments. I had a blast!
We did some traditional newborn poses with him, but also did lots of fun new stuff. Jeevan’s dad has a big love for music, so we incorporated some of his headphones and vinyl records. Be sure to check out his left hand, it totally looks like he is doing his DJ thing in his sleep. So cute! His parents have a passion for cooking, so we decided to pose him in a pot with a few cooking tools. And another one of my favorites, we posed Jeevan with a traditional drum, known as “dhol.” It was just too cool not to use that prop! (Disclaimer: Dad ensured his son’s safety 100% of the time)
I can’t wait to watch baby Jeevan grow throughout the years. I hope you enjoy looking through his sweet photos, as much as I enjoyed taking them.

And below are the two gorgeous 16×20 canvases that they ordered to adorn their walls!
I’d love to introduce you all to sweet little baby Colin! Isn’t he precious?! I love newborn sessions! He was a bit under the weather during our shoot, but he did his very best!
Colin’s daddy loves football and I think Colin does too now! He also decided to show off his Superman cape for us. Funny story: the Superman cape is actually his daddy’s from when he was a little boy! Isn’t that amazing? I love that! Family heirlooms are so important and I always love incorporating them into Newborn Sessions.
I also had the pleasure of photographing his family when Colin was still in his mama’s tummy. You can view his mama’s Maternity Session here: Nicole’s Maternity Session. It’s so fun photographing families from when they are first expecting their baby during their Maternity Session, then once they’re here, I get to photograph their Newborn Session and continued to many more Milestone and Family Sessions. I seriously have the best job ever!

I had the honor of photographing Maeve’s beautiful home birth. This was a pretty special birth for many reasons. One, I photographed another fellow birth photographer’s birth, which was way too awesome! Christine photographs births and newborns in and around the L.A. area. It’s a little different than photographing a client’s birth who is not really into photography, but Christine was so incredible and never made me feel nervous and I totally felt at home. It was truly an honor!
The other thing that I loved was that this was my very first home birth! I have photographed births throughout the Atlanta, GA area and all around the Orange County and L.A. areas here in California, and also at birth centers, but this was the very first home birth and I was just beyond excited! I have been wanting to shoot one for like ever, and finally this was the one!
And thirdly, it was a BIRTH! Plain and simple! How can a birth not be cool right?! I arrived close to 5p.m. and Maeve was born at 11:29p.m. Christine did such an incredible job and her birth team was beyond amazing. Her husband and her doula never left her side and her midwife and the assistant were so knowledgeable, calm and just incredible. I wish every mama had a team like hers surrounding them during their birth. And when little Maeve joined us Earthside, ohhhh it was just pure magic! She barely made a sound, latched on like a champ and was just perfection.
I loved how right after she was born, the midwife did the newborn screening check right on their bed, while mama and dad lie down next to her and watched. And then they just cuddled up their baby and hung out on their bed. That part was so cool, no need to travel anywhere. Just relax and enjoy parenthood!
To see more of Maeve’s Birth Story, please feel free to check out the Birth Story Slideshow on YouTube here. Congratulations to the happy parents and welcome to our world Maeve!
If you or someone you know would like a Birth Story photographed in the Orange County or LA areas, please feel free to contact me. I would LOVE to talk with you!
Meet baby Nora! Isn’t she adorbs? I had the pleasure of photographing baby Nora along with her mom and dad and very protective doggie. She was such a princess!
I love photographing babies in the comfort of their own home. Makes it so easy on mommies and daddies too! I just walk in, set-up a mini studio, shoot away until my heart is content, and then I clean up and leave. Eayy peasy right? hehe.
Congratulations to the new mommy and daddy and welcome to our world sweet Nora!
If you or someone you know is expecting or have a little one and you want to capture this sweet time in their life, contact me right away. I’d be happy to help you preserve this moment for you and your baby! XOXO
I had the honor to photograph the birth of sweet baby Raiyu. His mom Laura and his dad Adam were sooo excited to welcome their little man into the world. Mama’s water broke at 1a.m. on LABOR DAY! I got the call at 6 a.m. and then headed to the Beach Cities Midwfery birth center shortly after. Raiyu made his mama labor all day on LABOR Day and made his grand entrance at 4:09p.m. on September 5th, 2016. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20.5″ long.
Beach Cities Midwery is awesome, I love that place! I had my 3rd baby girl at the same birth center, in the room across the hall from where Raiyu was born. Nancy Pol was the attending midwife and her and the entire team was amazing!!! It was a pleasure watching them do their magic and document the entire birth story.
Below I’m sharing a few of my favorite photos from Raiyu’s birth. If you’d like to see more, please view their slideshow here: Raiyu’s Birth Story.
Congratulations again to the happy family and welcome to our beautiful world Raiyu!
I’d love for you all to meet sweet baby Benjamin! He did not want to sleep at all and thoroughly enjoyed his newborn session. I did get him to close his eyes for a few moments though, hehe.
Benjamin has such an amazing support system! He’s so lucky to have 2 sets of grandparents, his parents and 4 siblings around to teach him all that he needs to know.
I had so much fun photographing this beautiful family. Newborn sessions are not always just about the new babies. I love including parents, grandparents, siblings and pets during the newborn session. I love telling the whole picture by including all who love the sweet new babies.
If you or someone you know is expecting or already have a baby, please reach out to me. I would LOVE to capture these precious memories that fly by us ohhh so quickly! Cherish these moments!
I’d love to introduce you all to sweet baby Toryn! He was such a precious baby and we had an absolute blast. His mama made him so happy with milk and his dad serenaded him by playing piano throughout the shoot.
Toryn was so excited about his newborn session, that he insisted to stay up for most of it and make sure he didn’t miss anything, hehe. I did manage to get a couple with his eyes closed though, even though I think he was just pretending to be asleep. Oh and let’s not forget his guardian and best friend Simba. He stayed around and watched me to make sure I took good care of Toryn.
Welcome Eartside baby Toryn! Mommy and daddy are so proud of you already!
I would LOVE to introduce you all to beautiful Victoria! She’s one special little girl and was so sweet to her mama! She didn’t get her too much troulbe and was out in a jiffy! Victoria’s dad called me at around midnight to let me know his wife was in labor and I was on alert. Then I got another call at 3 a.m. telling me it’s time! I was at the birth center at 3:30 a.m., Victoria’s parents arrived at about 3:45 a.m. and she was born at 4:12 a.m.! Pretty amazing huh? Not going to lie, I wish one of my 3 births was even half that easy, haha.
What’s even more special about Victoria’s birth is I gave birth at the same birth center just 6 short months ago! Beach Cities Midwifery is amazing and I absolutely LOVE every single one of the midwifes and all of the staff there. They were perfect! The attending midwife for Victoria was also my midwife throughout my entire 3rd pregnancy and it was such a treat to work with Allison side by side this time. Definitely a much different experience for me.
Victoria’s mama was a rockstar! She had an all natural water birth and didn’t even make a peep! When she came earthside, she was already surrounded by all of her sweet family. Hope you enjoy Victoria’s Birth Story below. And if you didn’t have enough, check out the Birth Story slideshow that I put together as well here: Victoria’s Slideshow
Welcome to the world little one! Your mommy, daddy, grandma and your 3 aunts are very proud of you already!
I have such a special Session to share with you. I had the absolute pleasure of photographing sweet baby Ethan’s entrance into this world. I just cannot even begin to explain how amazing this journey was for me. As a mother myself, I felt as if I experienced all of the pain and joy with this wonderful family. I’m so happy that Ethan’s parents chose me to capture this incredibly amazing moment in their lives.
When Ethan’s mom was at about 6cm dialated, I went ahead and drove to the hospital. I knew it would probably be some waiting around on my part, but boy I really didn’t want to miss anything! And I’m so glad I did! Every moment was just so special! Oh and THE moment after she gave it her all in her final push and the doctor raised Ethan up to show her…OMG! I cried! Oh yeah, I sure did. Cried like a baby, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. It was such an emotional moment for all of us in the room. I feel as if a bond is created whenever I do newborn photography and then see the babies again when they’ve grown at 6 months or 1 year, it’s truly amazing. But watching an actual baby being born! Wow! Can’t beat that connection :)
Birth photography is so special, there’s just nothing quite like it. To experience and be able to capture an actual real live baby coming into this world..how can you top that? It was just truly amazing! Okay, I know I have said amazing like 20 times, so what. It is!
If you’re an expectant parent and have ever wondered about birth photography, wonder no more! Hire a birth photographer! You will NOT regret it!
Please enjoy just a glimpse of this special day from early contractions, to super active labor, through pushing and parents meeting their baby for the first time and grandparents becoming grandparents…oh it’s just all so beautiful! Enjoy :)
